Careers with Animals
What would be the ideal career for you? I am talking about the job of your dreams. I think for me it would be to write films. Of course I would want to be able to dictate what actually stays in the script, but that would probably mean producing and directing the film as well. The screenwriters are sadly at the bottom of the food chain. Oh well, don't feel sorry for them. They get paid a lot of money. Anyway, that's my perfect career, so what is yours? Maybe you would like to have a private work environment where you're never disturbed. Or maybe you're searching for careers with animals, as opposed to dealing with humans on a daily basis. I can definitely understand this. People can be rather irksome at times. Especially ones telling you what to do. Catch my drift?

Zoo Books
Children love to read, and they especially love reading books about animals. My toddler currently has about thirty zoo books in his collection and we read them every day. I use the word “we” loosely since I am the one reading his zoo books to him, but often he will point to animals and say their names so it is sort of like we are reading together.

Animals for Adoption
Do you like animals? In general I would say that this is a stupid question. However, there are a few individuals out there who really don't care for animals. Regardless, if you do love and appreciate animals, then you probably have a pet or two. This is the norm for most households. Whether it be a dog, cat or just a goldfish, we all typically tend to enjoy a nice companion. This is where the numerous animals for adoption come into the picture. Where did you acquire your puppy or kitten? Did you venture out that ridiculously expensive pet store at the local shopping mall or did you check out the nearby Humane Society? As for me, I did the whole Humane Society thing. There are just so many less fortunate animals for adoption now days. Why not lend them a helping hand, or home?

Animal Photos
Many people think that pictures of animals are just for children, but boy are they all mistaken. They might look at cute animal photos when they are small, but as they grow, they assume that, like cuddly stuffed bears, these pictures of animals are best left to childhood. Oh sure, trying to be cute, their boss might leave animal photos up around the office as a pleasant, if boring decoration, but no one ever thinks about these pictures at all. I really do think that this is a great shame. As a professional animal photographer, it should be no surprise that I like animal photos, but the reasons might be things that you have never thought about.

Do you get excited when you see the little guys in white and black? Have you collected so many of them that your home resembles a refuge for the Arctic creatures, yet you are always looking for more penguin stuff? Penguins are fascinating animals, and many folks have simply fallen in love with these cute, waddling animals. Around the world, there are many collectors of penguin stuff.

Animal Sounds
There is nothing more chilling than the sound of animals fighting. I once went golfing in St. Thomas , and one night I heard it at some time long past midnight. It was the animal sounds of two cats trying to tear each other to pieces, and when I first heard it, if only for a moment, I was quite convinced that I was going to die. Even worse animal sounds come from cats in heat. If you have never heard this sound, consider yourself one of the fortunate. Those who do lose something inside. It is such an awful wailing that I am quite sure that I never did recover from hearing it!

Ostrich Farming
Giant birds do exist! They just don’t take flight anymore. Ostriches are long necked, long legged “giant” birds and are the largest living species of birds in the world. These amazing creatures can run 40 miles per hour, grow up to eight feet tall and live to be over 50 years old!
